Reid Taylor

REid Taylor pictureConductor Reid Taylor has led and prepared choruses throughout the United States and Europe. His choruses have engaged in international tours and have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. A concert pianist and operatic tenor, Mr. Taylor performs regularly as a recitalist. Mr. Taylor conducted productions of Manuel da Falla’s La vida breve and Menotti’s The Medium in Cleveland where he also conducted a chorus for the Vasa Order of Sweden. He has also arranged for members of The Cleveland Orchestra for their Wade Oval Wednesdays Concert Series. Mr. Taylor has served as chorus master for The Opera Festival of Chicago where his chorus has received national critical acclaim and has been broadcasted on WFMT. He can also be seen in Chicago preparing the West Suburban Symphony Chorus and conducting the Reid and ChorusThe Naperville Chorus . His namesake production company has produced concerts for private events in Chicago, Naples, Palm Beach, Los Angeles and NYC. Mr. Taylor is also a linguist and has translated patents, legal and financial statements for publicly traded companies in German. Mr. Taylor studied opera and piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music and linguistics at Case Western Reserve. He began his path as a conductor while serving as assistant to the conductor at Pittsburgh Opera while still a teenager and has participated in conducting masterclasses with Jorge Mester, Maurice Peres, Victoria Bond and the composer Roberto Sierra. Mr. Taylor is a board member of Lyric Opera Stage Artists and serves as treasurer.
